As per the title, I have several jobs need doing on mine quite urgently.

I certainly would'nt mind taking my car to them, within say 80 miles or so, and I expect to pay a decent rate, its just that I dont know of a trustworthy garage around here and anyway I prefer to pay someone on here and keep it in the (omega( family.

I am near Steyning in West Sussex, and its a 2002 2.2DTi.

Would help to know what jobs... General Omega items I can/will readily do, but wouldn't be confident doing anything too mechanically involved on a diesel lump...

Thermostat
leak off pipes
injector top seal
Oil and filter change
Spark plugs

The old bugger runs really well, but it has become a complete pig to start from cold,particularly recently, and I did manage to
put in new glow plugs the other day but no noticeable difference.
It has been a little reluctant to start when hot on a couple of occasions too.

I realise that some of the jobs that need doing are laughably easy for most of you guys, but I have a health problem that prevents me from doing this kind of thing.

If anyone can do any of the above it would be very helpful, I might even manage the spark plugs myself if they are as simple as they used to be on cars in the 60s/70s.

Don't think you'll find any spark plugs on a diesel.

If it's hard to start from cold, you've probably got air getting in your fuel system somewhere. 

If you park on a hill, leave it parked facing downhill and you might find that helps.

Yes I have learnt that from you guys already thank you, it has saved me many a time, I even keep the fuel tank at least 3/4 full.

The fact is though that is why I need to get these bits done

I don't know anything about Omega diesels, but I had a Merc 2.5 TD that had air getting in the fuel system and on those it's the plastic low pressure pipes that feed the injector pump that go hard and brittle.    A set of those sorted my problem and cost about £60 from the Merc dealer.

That would be brilliant if you could find the time Al, It would be at your convenience of course and I would need advice as to what bits to get etc, but if you can then yes please !

I am not sure if these models have a priming pump. hope someone corrects me.

If it does i would first check the pressure to main rotary pump.

I have just checked on Autodata that the 'Fuel main pump delivery pressure' should be 16bar

Also a side not i am a mobile mechanic and am heavily involved and active members with other car clubs and forums.

Use a genuine stat, I tried a pattern one and it took ages to warm up, changed to genuine and it was much quicker
