Oh for God's sake, get a grip man!  ::)  ;D
Which god? There are many of them, and each one is the only one.

I don't mind there being multiple gods, its the brand wars and my turf battles that I hate. The worst two religions for this are the Islamic and Christian religions. In comparison most other religions are reasonably benign.

If you really want to know scientifically where we come from watch this video:

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153114940823487&video_source=pages_finch_main_video

So there is only one god, our creator, and human scientists have named him 'big bang' where it brought the universe and through multiple star cycles, creating the higher chemical elements, eventually us into existence.

Yes, and even Albert Einstein believed most firmly in God the creator.  :y

And one of our greatest living mathematicians / scientists Stephen Hawkins doesn't, your point? So if a well know name, a celeb, says or believes something it must be true? ehh, why? (At least it explains why all these over priced makeup, elothes ranges etc, etc are bought by gullible women). And if it is old it must be true which is another popular religious argument? ehh, why, what about people have been wrong for along time and now we know better? The Christian religion is frozen to about 2000 years a go which means more recent knowledge and understanding like the evolution of the living things on earth, isn't actually in it! 2000 years of increasing knowledge is a bugger, when you are trying to present a 2000 year old story as the absolute truth, written for profit of course. As all religions have one thing in common: Cross the priest's, shaman's, Imam's etc, etc palm with gold and that brand's 'special words' will save your soul and guarantee his brands version of nirvana, no gold of course and you damned to that particular brand's version of fire and damnation. All successful religions are very rich, and the senior ranks live very comfortable lives, don't forget, all those believers, keep those donations flowing, the higher ranks have living standards to uphold.

How do you know he is not god the destructor? As each evolution requires the destruction of one thing to create another, of course, because that is what we humans have designated it will be called.

Makes you wonder what the consequences would be if ( it would never happen unfortunately) it was illegal to teach religion to children before they reached 11years old for eg? Because by then children have an opinion and are able to ask questions and reason and doubt... A child of 5 knows nothing about the world other than what an adult tells them and will believe every word hence believing in father Christmas and the tooth fairy.... The bible is the biggest lie told and and to threaten an existence in hell if they don't conform to what's written I the bible is child abuse.... There is no place in the 21st century for the church.

Rods2 either you have faith and believe due to knowledge and personal experiences or not. That is up to you. Whether you believe in organised religion ("church") or not as I do not, but believe in God, or a combination of both, also up to you.

But do not mock and belittle those that do. Do not fool yourself that you are a better person for thinking that you know better and can state a belief that started 2000 years ago cannot be still valid. Does not the fact that Christianity has lasted 2000 years with a firm understanding of the words of Jesus, that make absolute sense to anyone who cares for humanity, not tell you something? Just because you have not been blessed by certain events and experiences does not mean it is untrue.

As for scientist believing or not means nothing; as I repeatedly state mankind is a mere infant in this universe and so far knows nothing.  To bring it nearer to home though I have had experiences that have no known scientific explanation, as they were, like tens of thousands have found, not of our normal understanding of this world; they cross the very boundaries of life and death with an afterlife being very evident.

So do not belittle; by for example suggesting that women buy expensive cosmetics in some false belief and this helps explain our belief in a loving, creative God. Life has evolved over the last 2000 years, but the underlying truth of what Jesus preached still holds good. Man has only to fully adhere to his words, not the writing of men who were vying for political power centuries later.

I stand by my beliefs till death and thereafter; but you obviously will not be able to take your beliefs forward!  Your belief is that you will die and that is it. I find that very sad.

Even more sadder still is that countless thousands if people world wide will die because of religion... People can believe in whatever they wish and I have no problem with that but its all down to evidence .. Show evidence of the existence if god?? I won't hold my breath though.

I for one am not trying to beliitle anyone, Lizzie. I genuinely feel sorry that so many people believe absolutely in such an absurdity. So much time wasted on something that just cannot be true. As I said in a previous post, the genius of it is that it can never be proved nor disproved, so it is pointless even trying to debate. I think as mankind progresses, the evil bastards who use it to try to subjugate others (as has been happening for centuries) will have to be eliminated once and for all. Then the 'others' will diminsh in number (as is happening across the civilised world) and maybe, just maybe, we will be rid of it for good.

I dont believe in any religion , never believed in god either from as long as i can remember . So much suffering and cruel illnesses like when my sister died aged 49 ... there is no holy human being and never was that would make mankind suffer in such terrible ways .

No Emd, instead there is a loving God who allows us to live in the way we feel fit after he gives us life, but we sometimes have to suffer pain before we ascend to a life away from the misery, cruelty, and pure hate that his children have decided to inflict on others. God gives and taketh life but after all pain is washed away and everlasting existence is the future for those who attempt to lead a relatively good life. You Emd have obviously not had the experience those close to me have had, which has been documented by others as well, of the very recently departed making it be known that they are fine and are now passing on. Indeed a form of what Jesus did after his crucifixion 2000 years previously!

I sincere pray that you can find peace and some understanding of your painful loss which, I know, takes some time to do :y

That's right. We shouldn't need any proof. We should all follow blindly and unquestioningly, a bit like sheep.  :y
