I use to have a nice clean example of one of those Vans.

L reg (72) I think, had a 1650 stage 2 Blue Print Engine, pre cross flow and 40 DHOC Weber side drafts.

Whent like Stink. Sold mine for 200 quid about 15 years ago!!!!!! >:(

Pre x-flow. I know they'll fit if you turn the engine mounts round but we used to swap pre x-flow for x-flow. Mind you a RWD Eccy with a 1500GT would be a fun drive, we used to drop 'em in Anglias!!! :D

MDTM is ruled by his head, (sensible bloke), I'm ruled by my heart(nostalgic pillock)! We'll always be happy to disagree on such matters & vehicles. I'd love to get a RWD Eccy on opposite lock again. I'd pay for a good'n.
NOT THAT rather' MUCH THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::)

Back in my RS2000 days (oh happy days) a mate of mine had a Mk 2 van with uprated RS running gear, an awsome engine and two bags of cement over the back axle, it went round corners like a rocket slid on rails and did a low 13s quarter at the pod, if only we could turn back the clocks, i would still have my RS and ....................well we can dream  :'(
