wanted sunroof window motor
« on: 22 February 2015, 11:28:45 »

Hey folk. I think my sunroof motor has blown or burned out. Checked the fuse and that's ok, it's just not moving and had to close it manually.
It's a 97 cd model if there is any differences. Anyone close by that has one? Are there other vx I can look at using if I venture to a scrap yard?
Any help or info would be appreciated.  Cheers.

Apologies for wrong section post, couldn't add it to the desired one.

Have you had the battery disconnected/flat lately?  You may just need to reset it.

How do I reset it?  What happened was that I caught the button and it tried to move but the roof was frozen solid. It then dropped to slide back,,  then it wouldn't shift back. I used the manual mode to get it parked closed.

To reset, put the dial to the closed position, turn on the ignition, then press and hold the knob in for 10 seconds or so - you should hear the motor move one way then the other.

Thanks for the info, been out and checked it,, maybe it's just a dodgy switch but it's all fully operational now. I did push and twist the knob a few times but had ign on while doing this and hadn't read this info above till just so thanks again  and ta for all the replies guys.

Mine was seemingly busted... fuse ok, so wound it open manually, greased the rails, wound it closed, and after some faffing, eventually persuaded it to work... lack of use being the culprit I think... but handy to know how to reset it :y
