decided to keep it.
« on: 02 July 2008, 17:20:43 »

as some of you might of read, i have been having a few problems selling my car. all thanks to a stupid mileage discrepency. have now spoken to both the A.A and Experian and have been told that they might not change their data, even tho i have supplied copies of past mot's and service history. it's under investigation apparently but have been told not to hold my breath as it can take upto 8 weeks.  >:( >:(
so have now decided to keep the old girl. gonna do the few jobs the need doing and whack a tow bar on her.  :) :) :)

Maybe they cant change the data after a certain time.  maybe to much work for them to do. :-/

Good choice on keeping the car -- but ...... I would find out which ombudsman to complain to and complain mighty heavily !!!!  These wasters have cost you a car deal -- will cost you money and hassle further down the line.

From the traders point of view -- if they can cock up the data in this direction how can a trader trust that ANY of their data is correct !!?? Bit of adverse publicity along those lines could do them a lot of damage --- which they can avoid by simply doing their jobs correctly in the first place.

Sure, mistakes happen ( I should know -- made enough in my time!). But what they do when mistakes are uncovered is the telling thing !!!!

have spoken to A.A about it but they passed the blame to Experian who collect the data. they say it's not their fault as they rely on third parties to supply all the data they hold on file. really annoying. wouldnt as bad if they were pleasant when speaking to you, but the girl at experian was quite snotty asked to speak to her manager but was told she wasn't available. took my details and has promised a phone call tomorrow.  :-? :-?

I suppose it depends on what tank you use. The 80litre(?) tank does. But if you use the torroidal (sp?) in place of your spare, it's only relatively small & you have just filled the space where youre spare tyre went. Your call. Neither is wrong.  ;)

depends on the tank size, mine's an 80l along the back of the boot so yeh it does but allegedly you can get a 60l in the spare wheel well, make enquiries
