I am recovering from laying under the car and fitting a new backbox. I ache all over, and don't really feel like much more than browsing.
I am too old to go laying under cars !!!!! :(

It did fight a bit, mate ...but a 4lb club hammer put the argument in my court. Don't know if I said somewhere, but National Tyres wanted £180 for box. Got one from Allparts (High Wycombe) for £57. I have to say though, when under a car at my age banging and sawing..£180 sounds sweet ;D
But once done, £57 sounds sweeter.
Needed the car so had to fit a cheapy until I can get a pucker full set. Eternal, etc.
As the title of this post....its been a slow day...can't be arsed to move much..... :y

You are smack on there Baza....like you say, I proudly profess 'I'll soon do that' .......get down under the car, scrape elbows, etc....then comes the part called 'extraction', where I have a good peer around from under the car, make sure no-one is visable to watch my antics. I then spend ten minutes wobbling, kicking legs, arms etc, reaching for anything external to grab to pull myself out. then its the art of getting up......nine times out of ten, I get cramp !!!!!!
Yes, I feel like 19.....after the job I feel 99. Yes, I have many slow days after doctoring the Omega ;D

Do you know....I am seriously thinking we 'seniors' should have a thread of our own. No-one under sixty can post. We can discuss things that these young whippersnappers can't comment on and ridicule us oldies.
What do you think ;D ;D ;D ;D

I will let you know after i've helped my lad take the engine from one Desmond, the gearbox from another and transplant them both into his estate after taking out the said lumps from that car! I'm not sure i'm going to make it, I think I should put the life insurance policy where swmbo can find it before I start! ;D

I'm over 60 (just) and I have no problems with fitting new parts to my vehicles because

1) neither of our vehicles are rusting old wrecks and

2) I let the nice man at the garage do all of that nasty, dirty mechanicing stuff.
