Cam Belt tensioner
« on: 02 March 2015, 16:03:44 »

Hi.
I have tried to search for the answer but cannot find it.
I have fitted a new cam belt to my 2.0 16v but have found when adjusting the tension the indicator doesn't move to point to 'new belt'
If I keep turning the Allen key it goes past the tights point and back to slack again.
Any thoughts?

Simples, you have the water pump fitted incorrectly, its pulley is offset and hence alters the belt length.

There is a notch on the water pump that should be set at the 11 o clock position
