Interior swap from CD to Elite
« on: 04 March 2015, 18:30:34 »

I have a 2002 CD with cream cloth interior that I want to change to dark Elite leather, I have all the replacement interior panels from an 2002 Elite, door cards, seats and seat belts etc.

Is there anything I need to look out for when changing things over, my main question is seat belts, is there tensioners or anything to worry about or is it just take out and bolt in replacement black belts?

I know that I need to solder the drivers seat wires to get all the functions as posted on here. Can i turn the ignition on to get the seats forward to do up bolts etc without setting off the airbag warning light and if I dont solder the wires will the seats move but without memory function. Basically what needs to be plugged in to avoid setting off any warning lights

Interested to hear from anyone who has done this before

Thanks

Seats are plug and play, but wait 15minutes from ignition off before you unplug the seats... But

Don't connect the flat yellow plug on the passenger front seat.

Drivers seat requires wiring mod as per guide...

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90680.0 ignore wire colours as they might be different, but wire positions are correct :y

Rear seat heater wiring requires the relay loom, plugs into existing loom under rear seat base and also switch panel  at rear of centre console, but again plug and play :y

Done this swap a couple of times myself .
As said by TA,  ignition off for 15 mins before you pull anything about. IMO  best take keys out of ignition ;)

If ignition is switched on while you have seats electrically disconnected you will have the Airbag light on afterwards.
Same applies to the yellow connector on the front passenger side  ( child seat sensor wiring) . . .DO NOT connect this  . .  it should be safely tucked away under the seat /carpet on your CD  . . . so leave it there  or airbag light will be on afterwards.

Sure seats should still move forward & back  with ignition off to allow access to seat bolts.

My method is to release all four seat bolts first while you can still move them electrically,  then disconnect all the electrical connectors, lift seat clear of car  . Simples  ! ;) ;)    HTH

Thanks for all the replies.

Just to clarify on the soldering of the drivers side wiring.

Am I joining the wires as they come out of the seats so that they are no longer connected to the loom (like an electrical termination point) or should they join one of the loom wires so they still get a current.

Hope this makes sense

Also the wiring loom with relays for the heated rear seats, is it routed anywhere particular or just sit underneath the rear bench as i don't want to crush them

Thanks

As per the guide :y

All soldering is done at the seat control box, not the loom plugs...
