What tools have you acquired from people's cars.

. . . As mentioned in another thread I obtained my first piece of snap-off equipment today. . . A six sided deep impact 10mm found on the scuttle of a megane  ;D

In my younger days, I found £100,000 in the back of a van. The doors on it were locked so I just popped them open with a thermal lance. :)

Nah I checked with everyone that it wasn't theirs. . . It was also rusty so had been there for some time. Wire wheeled it. Job done  :y

Best place to find stuff is under the back seats , or if its an omega the chassis rails  8)

We found a snap-on adjustable wrench (pipe wrench, not a spanner  :y) on my sons truck steering rod. Funny thing was, he had track rods fitted about three months prior to that so it had hung on well.  ;D

I've found several in various places on various aircraft while doing the walkround pre-flight. Some I still use. :y

This takes me back, Tool Boxes are checked in and out in the RNAS and we lost a spanner, had to virtually strip a Wasp Helicopter until it was found, grounded till we did........ :D :D

I recall asking for an MR2 mk1 I was looking at to be put up on the ramps and finding a nice Makasa screwdriver on the front subframe but have since lost loads, 10mm spanners and 13mm sockets in particular for some reason  :-\

A member left here with a T40 Torx bit somewhere between the coolant bridge and gearbox... ::)

We bought a smashed Lotus Elan years ago to rebuild and sell on - found part of a guy's scalp behind drivers seat :o
