Engine oil: anyone used this....?
« on: 08 March 2015, 18:43:45 »

....in their Omega?

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/p/accessories-engine-oil/engine-oils/engine-oil/5w30-engine-oil/?521776041&0&cc5_247

I've used Triple QX lots and it's the stuff we use at the garage in semi and fully synthetic form. For the Omega I usually use GM 10W40 with the 4 for price of 3 offer but I'm pretty poor at the moment and can't afford a batch job lot.  :'(

My Omega has just been refreshed with 5 litres of Fuch's Titan 10/40 semi (not needed now the RX8 is history) and topped up with 0.75L of GM 10/40 semi. :y

She positively purrs like a sexually satisfied woman now. :y

Not if you buy 1 x 20l drum.  Definitely less convenient than 4 x 5l, but a bloody sight cheaper :y

Right, so I need to specify it needs to be the drum! Got ya. I remember seeing them and I have some spare empty cans for transferring so that's not a problem  :y

Out of interest what would the 5w30 Full Fat oil in 20L drum be? Fancied putting that in TBH

Why? The engine doesn't need it, and won't benefit from it.

Its not a highly tuned, highly strung engine. Any old shite will do as long as it resists mayo'ing (so avoid Castrol).

Just change it regularly :)

Those two points are all that matters for oil as long as you're using the correct grade. QX 10w40 in mine out of the 200l drum at work. I could have 5w30, but keeping oil in a V6 is hard enough as it is.
