Not impressed - Insurance company
« on: 23 March 2015, 17:23:20 »

Well I've not heard anything from my insurance company for a week so I decided that I'd give em a ring to see what's going on. Spoke to my claims advisor who said ' Yep its been wrote off & we're just awaiting its classification' Then we'll give you a valuation based upon Glass's Guide Retail value. Looking at that I was gobsmacked, if I'm right its about £4000  :o :o :o

Then I asked 'Had the other parties insurance admitted liability yet' as they'd rang me up and said as much me. 'No' she says, 'they haven't responded to our correspondence yet'  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

You'd think that they would want to sort it out ASAP, the courtesy car I got is costing em £130 a day!!! Which I've now had for 9 days  :o :o :o

I can beat that   ;D

I once had a courtesy car, costing £125 a day and because the Merc dealer couldn't get the parts needed quickly (they had to come from Germany) I ended with the courtesy car for two months plated as a cab....The bill the 3rd party insurance comp got was for £7500, just for the hire car, never mind the repair bill to mine  ::)
My Merc that was damaged was probably worth £4-5k at the time.
The 3rd party Ins went ballistic at the hire car bill...and even phoned me about it complaining and threatening court action...I just told them, go ahead if you want and sue my insurance company....never heard what happened tho  ;D

I managed to terminate a customers pug 307 a couple of months ago, nice tidy car pre accident that I would valued at about a grand or so and the trade in prices she had had previously agreed, big surprise then when they offered her top retail £2800 for it,needless to say she was thrilled that I broke it for her even though it wasn't my fault.

Replacement taxis are expensive things, and only provided if the third party is plainly at fault... the longer they argue the toss the bigger the bill ::)

First time the Omega got whacked saw me in a year old Vectra C estate long enough for it to need a set of tyres and a major service whilst the other insurers sorted themselves out...

Thing I can't understand is why they holding out so long, you'd expect that they'd want to hurry it up?  :-\ :-\ :-\

As my cousin in law was always told, "Stoopid is as stoopid does..."

Yet to encounter an intelligent insurance company :-\
