Any darts playing OOFers?
« on: 03 April 2015, 18:19:23 »

....been playing for a while now and really enjoying it. Just trying to get better. I'mnot great but I threw 100 darts this morning and all aiming at the 20 and hit it 45 times out of 100. not bad but not great either.

Any tips for improving?

As with most things I think that basically it's down to practice. One thing I did find many years ago when playing was that the dart weight made a difference too.I found myself less accurate with a lighter dart than when I used a heavier one.Something to consider or experiment with perhaps?

I used to enjoy a game of darts, we used to play for money in our dinner hour. Kept me in beer money.   ;) :y
As said, different weights suit different people but it is all down to having a comfortable throwing style and plenty of practice.  :y

Very true.  :y Maybe said in jest but many a player plays better with a care-free attitude in the pub but goes to pieces during a tournament.  :y

It's a fun pub game, but I'm so crap at it that I could miss the floor if that's what I aim at.

Haha some good advice there!!!

I brought a set of tungsten darts weighing 24g. this is the middle of the road weight for darts. they have medium sized stems with standard flights. so these darts are 100% average! lol

however that's a great shout about theweight...these darts feel really light to me. when I buy a proer set going to go for 27g I think :)

had a game last night (drunken lol)..... finished 501 in 38 darts (8 of which were firing at my double). I believe sub 30 is a good target  :-\

Impossible, Al!  ;D

Seriously, phil taylor would be proud of a 14 dart finish  ;D

im trying to practise consistent scoring at the moment. chucked another hundred darts.... 45 AGAIN hit the 20. Well at least I'm consistently crap!  ;D

my game would be easily found out though if I played a match...... my doubles are shocking
