And should mention I last greased my tensioner pulley up about a year ago.  :y

If it's starting to squeal, and has play I would suggest that the bearings have been run dry... The heat that this generates is what ultimately causes the pulley to break up... Replace. :y

Yeah I had a feel of the pulley. there's a little bit (and I mean a little bit) of play. ill stick a new one on with a new belt and hopefully that will sort it  :y
