They should be writing to every DVLA issued licence holder... my letter arrived three weeks ago... ;)

I have already used the system recently for a car hire in France.  I found it easy to use, factually correct and actually took less time than I usually spend searching for the counterpart ::)

As usual the government seem to have managed to take something simple and make it wonderfully complicated.

I work abroad three weeks out of every 4 so this is now something else I have to do in my (precious) office week. Whereas before I just carried my license I now have to print off one of those things every month. ::). And then hope no-one looks at me funny and refuses to give me a car when I hand them over my "proof of driving record" that I clearly printed off at home.

No different to the changes in VED rules, just something to keep a few people employed while making sure they don't do anything useful.

Used the site just now as an experiment to check my entitlements & points..

I'd forgotten I can drive tractors & mopeds.

*goes out to buy one of each*

Interesting that you have to use your National Insurance number to check your licence.  ::)

Maybe a handy bit of cross checking between DVLA, HMRC & DWP?  :-\

Just had a look at what I'm entitled to drive. Obviously I knew but hadn't checked for a while. Tracked vehicles (provisionally), 16 seater up to 8 metres plus trailer and some other ridiculous, totally unsafe categories. Oh...and road rollers.  ;D

The website is down now, typed ion all my dodge details, passport number, NI number, DL number, came back saying site down due to STMO publicising before letters had been sent out ;D

I checked online, I now seem to have a bike licence, A2, never passed a test.
