Which is best for cleaning ??

Was going to get some carb cleaner but none around for 50 miles! The joy or rural life!!  ::)

i sometimes use a bit of petrol and a wire brush/ tooth brush depending on what i'm cleaning.

Carb cleaner is much more volatile than either. Depends what you want to clean really. Diesel makes a good degreaser and penetrating lubricant. Petrol might be better for removing hardened deposits, etc.

Brake cleaner is good stuff too if you can lay your hands on some.

White spirit or Denatured (Isopropyl) Alcohol; I believe the NHS use the latter. ;)

Will go and get some from my mini bar!  ;) ;D ;) Think I will get some petrol if that is better for shifting muck. And its a few pence cheaper  ;D
