Sigvec coolant warning.
« on: 19 August 2015, 15:23:15 »

The symbol between the speedo and rev counter is showing but nothing on the central display.

Temperature is fine and I can't find any leaks......(hard to spot in the rain)

Female hissy fit like the Omega?.......or........£150 scrap value? :D ;D

Unlike the mighty MV6 the coolant bottle is opaque so I have to wait for the old girl to cool down a little.

Anywhere near 100k?

If so, suspect rad...

Undo the four screws on the slam panel and the two where the bumper meets the wheel arch and carefully peel the bumper back for a better view...

Replacement is a doddle, but bumper needs to come off fully to do... only three further clips underneath :y

Thanks, Al. I'll take a  look.

Mileage is currently 66000 miles.

After switching off the engine than starting it again the yellow coolant alert light has now gone. :y

What about coolant change? Does it use GM 5 year red like the Omega or is it one of these 'sealed for life and no need to change' jobbies?

VX red plus distilled water... Think it's around 10 litres from memory, but check the handbook :y

Broadly speaking, the 2.8 is a similar layout to the 2.6/3.2 iirc, so removing the covers might give you a glimpse into the V for any signs of coolant there...

Also the bottle has a vent, any signs of coolant there? This does rather assume that the coolant bottle lives on the bulkhead behind the battery on the v6... If there is coolant here, suspect cap ;) Working from distant memory as it's a while since I looked at a v6 Vectra...

No sign of coolant loss anywhere.

Dry as a nun's pussy.

I shall take this as a good omen. :)

You're only jealous because the Signum is the 'must have'  car for A-lists celebs. :P :P :P

I'm pretty sure that Bruce Willis own a Signum. ;) ;D

Is this the car that is the colour of Linda Blair's projectile vomit in The Exorcist?... :)
