You often comment about how cold you are. You either live in a place that is 1)damp/permanently in the shade/draughty, or 2)you have poor circulation.

1)......move/insulate

2)......alcohol.

Its the old style 9 inch brickwork so no insulation as no cavity , its always cold in the house even in the summer its cool . Circulation is a problem , thats why i have thermals on and a thick jumper most of the year  :( My ears are turning blue  :D

Is that right? I thought your body heated up to process food and alcohol.

My brother in North Yorkshire has started feeding his log burner.

9 inch brickwork walls. Can't they(at much disruption) be insulated by having false walls inside? No grants available?

Of course your body heats up, that's the whole idea. Plus, it thins your blood, aiding circulation.

When its cold we all huddle round a candle.

When its really cold, I light it.

I usually turn the central heating off at the end of April. However this year it was early July before I flicked the switch I'm seriously considering turning the fire on tonight It's getting rather chilly. Has it been a cold summer or is it just me getting old and feeling the cold?  :-\
