V6 power loss
« on: 04 September 2015, 20:58:46 »

Hi all just a few questions any help appreciated :-)
My 3.0 v6 is suffering power loss
The engine management light is coming on and off intermittently
I plugged in to computer and 2 alarms came up
1. Incorrect/no engine rpm signal
2. O2 sensor circuit voltage low
The car is idling at 4-5 hundred revs only, which i doubt is normal
When driving at 50-60 mph in 5th and put my foot on the accelerator there is at times little or no power

I know the rpm signal is got to do with the crankshaft sensor but is it a probable cause for such power loss or is it more likely to be the 02 sensor?

When the faults were cleared by the computer the car acted like a whole different animal for about a half hour but then it went back to its old tricks

If anybody can help or went through this and knows anything about it i would greatly appreciate it,

Thanks
Michael

No rpm signal is normal, as the codes would have been read without engine running  :)

How does car behave with MAF unplugged?
