Out of my diesel one of the best i got was in one day a trip to gatwick and then a trip to heathrow which was a total 620 miles and when i got back to town i still had a range of 113 miles. Not bad for a 2.2DTI estate.

yeah longer journeys are awesome, the 476 was just the usual driving i do, nothing extraordinary about it on this occasion, but the mileage on a long journey (especially if im on my own and therefore rarely stop) is astounding.

its pretty rural where i live so you need to travel a good distance to get anywhere. this actually works out fairly well driving the v6 about. cant imagine what it would be like if i had to do stop and starts around about town though (costs me 75 quid a week as it is). journey to work in the mornings is up to hour and a half, home a bit quicker, so longer journeys there. i spose all the mileage on the car, and shes coming up to 151k this week, is all 'motorway miles' so constant speeds for long periods. thats why im not too bothered what the mileometer says, cos i know the miles are 'good' miles if that makes sense.

I have never managed to get more than 440 out of my 2.2 :(

Either I have a small fuel tank or it's drinking more than it should :(

After doing 120m, I've had my MID saying 720m range in the tractor.

Managed 500m out of tank in MV6

I used to get 440 from a tank, "amber gambling" on the fuel light but lately its shot up to 460-ish - although i've had a few long runs to Peterborough (90 miles each way, give or take) this last fortnight.

Still wonder if a 2.5 V6 would be any different in fuel than mine - 75% of my commute is 50mph+ A roads.  Silly me buying a 4-pot cos i thought it would be more economical!

I should be able to squeeze 500 miles from a tank in mine given its doing 32mpg (based on brimming the tank and Odometer readings) - i must have one of those "pessemistic" gauges.  Don't know what the TID thinks it is - too many dead pixels!
