hi all
I had a thread running on this rear oil seal failure a while back but am now considering attempting to replace it myself .
The car  ( '03 3.2 MV6 Auto ) is sorned & not in use so time factor for doing it does not matter.
What I would like to know is what exactly has to be removed & what can stay in situ to do this job?
The car is already on stands & well clear of the ground , enough for me to get under quite comfortably to work.
So my programme would be something like this :
1. cat back exhaust off
2. cats & sensor wiring off
3. exhaust heat sheilds off
4. drop prop shaft
5. remove starter,( is this neccesary ? ) but if so , battery is already disconnected
6. remove bell housing bolts
7. remove auto box mounting bolts
8. support engine & tilt so transmission tips downwards at rear
9. disconnect selector rod , wiring connectors  to box  & transmission fluid pipes from box
9a. support auto box on suitable trolly jack/s
10. remove TC flange plate bolts
11. wiggle box  with TC & engine apart
12. roll gearbox/ TC  clear of car
13. now ready to investigate & replace rear crankshaft oil seal
Have I missed anything or is there anything listed that does not need to be removed to replace this oil seal please ?
Is the order of what I have suggested correct ?
I have tried searching the forum but cannot find a "how to" for this job , so presume there is not one

Any advice or help greatly appriciated  TIA       Al
