Easy enough with a wire saw if you're happy to scratch the car it's coming off, like a scrapper. If you're hoping to keep the paint nice on the donor vehicle that may be trickier. I seem to think I did it once with literally a length of wire wrapped around two dowels. Once it got moving and got hot it cut through the glue/foam pretty well.  A proper wire saw would make lighter work of it. :)

String's a good idea.  :y Should only 'bruise' the paint, which would polish out if the owner so wished. Like I say, part of the trick is to get it warm. Take it steady, long strokes, not much force, like cutting metal.

One of these.

tap it under the outside edge of the spoiler with a hammer and then just tap it the whole way around the edge, being careful not to cut into the spoiler itself. Takes 10 - 15 minutes.  :y

If his scraping it anyway, probably easier to buy the boot of him, then you can go to town on it, assuming where talking saloon here, I can normally get them off inside 3 mins without damage to the spoiler with an blunt axe and sledge the hammer, the boot doesn't do so fair though.

Work from the top middle and work outwards, using the axe about 2 mm from the edge of the spoiler.  :y

Also worth noting for info the Pre / Mini face ones are not the same as the FL.

Well I don't know what your paying for the spoiler only vs the whole boot, but put it this way his unlikely going to be able to sell the boot after you have cheese wired the spoiler off.
