Did a bit of ambulance chasing yesterday. Scarborough hospital to Hull hospital. Needless to say the ambulance won by five minutes.

It was the first time I had really pasted the car since we got it. Under heavy braking there is a disconcerting juddering which feels as though the ABS is trying to operate.

It doesn't pull to one side, no wheels locking up. I wonder if it is a warped disc?  The brake pads had plenty of life in them 300 miles ago.

Sounds to me like it could be a disc.

The front end anti lock brakes on our corsa is rather keen to kick in.
Especially if the roads are damp / shockers are weak and the cars is being chucked about a tiny bit.

Thanks for the replies. I think it is a mix of a warped disc and the ABS. The discs aren't shot but are cheap enough. I'll get VX ones put on when I have a slot. You are right about the ABS. I had a play with it in the wet yesterday on the empty Yorkshire wold roads.

Some really awful roads between Scarborough and Cottingham 
Have you got a family member in Castle Hill at the moment ??
Its 15 minutes down the road from me if you are stuck for anything

Thanks for the offer. I did have my mum there but she died on Wed night when I went out to put more money on the car parking. Managed to register the death today so won,t be going again.
