On a more serious note
« on: 15 July 2008, 19:48:00 »

Coming home from work this morning on my cycle.  Zebra crossing by temporary lights - who has right of way.  lights are literally on top of zebra but no carz stopped when lights were green.  Any help appreciated,  thinking about contacting local mp >:(

Were you cycling across the zebra crossing or were you on foot pushing the cycle?

I am sure that if you were on foot the cars should have stopped. If you were riding then you're just another vehicle apparently trying to go across flow of traffic.

If you were cycling across from one pavement to another. please stop it, the pavement is for pedestrians, never for cyclists.

alex.  on foot, worst part was another pedestrian crossing from the other side.  he said exactly what i said, which is unreaptable on an open forum.
I'm not anti car - i drive a mig but the b@stards would have run us over.

excuse my language >:(

roadworks??

i seriously think the workmen should have put the crossing out of use, but a zebra crossing carries no obligation for a person to stop unless there are people actually on the crossing, which would mean the vehicles by law should stop

however, right of way is something you give, not take
