Was looking into them awhile back found a load of people complaining about the haldex on the early models especially. Type in Google 'Insignia VXR haldex' see for yourself.

Not sure what driving one in anger has to do with it tbh.. Bit too cryptic, Care to elaborate? ...Unless you mean that's the route cause to the issue mentioned which naturally wouldn't help if the car was constantly treated that way.

Anyway... Worth a mention I thought.  ::)

Its the same with all the earlier Haldex/ZF setups (check the VAG issues, X5 problems etc etc), they suffer badly when the tyre diameters are not maintained to within a mm of each other front/rear (this was also what caused the early issues with the Calibra/Cav 4x4 setup, they later fitted a temperature sensor which went to 2WD when the oil got to hot).

In fact, that's true of all non transfer box type AWD setups.  :y

Can I ask about the Insignia Elites again, like the Omega are they softer in the suspension?

Flex newer version of SL?

So Elite is no different suspension wise to rest of the range? (Except SRi, assume that is firmer)

Likewise, though SWMBO hated it. I do find it odd that the Senator from years back was clever enough to change the damper setting to 'normal' above 60mph( :-\) whereas my on so called premium brand car I have to do it myself.  ???

Picked up a 20L drum 10/40 Semi for £22+vat   :)

Sat in an Insignia. Still don't like them, seats too hard, no support. Is it just me or do the facelifted ones have tiny dials? Dash cluster is way too small  :-\

Overheard a women at service desk going through her bill, something about a coolant leak. Anyway the bill was £420   :o

She went outside and climbed into her 02 plate Corsa!

Glad I still do DIY  :)
That's a good price Mr T, which VX, was it on TC, special, or did you just blag it off them.

Are the Elites any better? Shame as Insignia's are good value.

£6.5k can get you 2010 one, 60k miles full Elite spec.
Because nobody wants them. Because they ain't particularly good.

How about the 2.8V6?. At least it would have reasonable performance.

Okay, so it has the looks of Susan Boyle but if it's cheap enough I could be tempted to overlook this.
You already did with your signum.

It's a 'Now' branch, TC offer, the price was actually if I bought 3 drums, but they were offering that price on just a single drum  :y
