Xenon headlight suppliers.
« on: 13 November 2015, 19:28:04 »

Is there anyone that can point me in the direction of a company that either stocks or can supply new Xenon headlight units, tried Euro carparts.....but they claim that they stock them at around a million squid apiece, but reading the product description it quotes Halogen bulbs....umm now confused as to what they are listing.....definitely says Xenons :-\

The easy way is buy some depo's and swap lenses, onto your old units. :y

Possibly :-\

I did give you the Depo facelift xenon part numbers ::)

Sure, they aren't great for fitting the ballasts too, and need some fettling, but I have no complaints with the ones on my white one. Especially seeing as they were a third of the price of genuine :o  :y

I still have those reference numbers as you say,but I'm still struggling to find Depos.....even tried their UK site, not much luck with that either : ::):)I've seen cheapo PFL ones on Gay Bay but I don't want a bodge job in all honesty. Serek knows of a guy in Poland who refurbs them with new adjusters and cleans up the lenses etc for £50 a pair plus shipping.May well send off what's in the shed and see how he gets on :-\

Don't you have the remaining supply of metal adjusters Ken? In which case, you could do all your stock of lamps in an evening and put the saving to your VXR stash 8)

Tis' true about the adjusters ;)but it seems like a PITA to frig about sticking headlights in the oven pulling them apart and then oppsing them up reassembling them.....in all honesty Nick,I can't be arsed,  as the results can be a bit iffy. Also looking at the 3.0 ltr lenses they look completely fubared and that's why I was looking at new rather than spreading bits of car all over the kitchen.....trying to keep a low profile at the moment ;)

Only the HID lenses have been through the approval process for HIDs.

OP - why do you need them?  Only time I've had to replace headlights on an Omega was due to parking far to close to an unexpected inferno.

For everything else, the genuine ones are easily repaired :)

If its Mfl Hid's your after, i've got a pair in the loft which I never got around to fixing the adjusters after I tried cleaning the silver bit around the HID lamp and some of the silver paint came off  :-[

Iirc, the lenses are in one piece and pretty clear.
The ballasts also sparked up the bulbs with no problems too.

If you can make use of them, pm me  :y

Looking for postage and the price of a box of beer for chrimbo  ;)

We could have done them at Wycome, if we distracted Chris enough so she didn't notice!

Failing that, pop round once you have some new adjusters...  ...its fiddly, but easy, if that makes sense? Mrs TB and I do it together, as extra hands can help.
