WIM, Wishbones and Recon Rear Track Rod End Arms
« on: 16 July 2008, 12:29:58 »

I am returning to WIM a week today to have my new wishbones fitted, two months after my first visit where Tony said that they were shot.

That in itself is interesting as looking at another topic they're an item that's checked on the MOT and the MOT in January made no mention of it!

Anyway I opted for the pattern parts from Vauxcentre in the end (thanks to SP_3.2!)  to keep the price down, and the fact that you can just order them.  Whilst I could have chosen FAI ones, or Lemforder from the Autovaux site you have to enquire and I couldn't be bothered.

More interestingly is that WIM are offering to fit reconditioned rear track rod end arms.  They charge £75 for the pair, and I think that's good value as the TC price is £62.50 per side (thanks to andyc for the pricing!).

All I have to do is leave my old ones behind so that Tony can spend a bit of time freeing them off and then another lucky OOFer can have them!

So, looks like I will be able to keep the price right down, with the exception of the amount of fuel I will use!
