The Ipswich branch did mine the other day and (so far) all seems well and good... They did use replacement trims and they are sat a little higher than I'd have expected but I'll give them the benefit... Until it goes wrong!!!  ::) ::) :-? :-?

Yes well, they shouldn't be.

That sudgests that they didn't remove all the old sealent.

The trims should touch the metalwork all the way round including the top corners.

Right, called the help desk.

They are calling me back, I told them that I am not happy to let this depot do any work on my car for the fifth time.

Any chance you can record the conversation, would love to be a fly on the wall for that one!  :o

Useless muppets, they have just assigned the job to the same depot....again.

So, I have told the depot manager what I think and just called customer services again.

They are assigning me a 'case manager' to deal with the issue which could take upto 48 hours to get a response from!

Not happy!

Seam to remember father tunnies windscreen going, was mentioned at a service (when the car was fleet)

They sent the car to AutoWindscreens.

Right, time to re-cap.

Attempt 1) Had a new screen fitted at home originally, when I looked at this the screen had been damaged on the bottom corner, the trim didn't fit correctly and there was no sealent at the base of the screen so when you drove along it howled as the wind came through the gap.

Called customer services, explained to them that it needed a new trim, the screen was damaged and that it was not sealed correctly.

Got a phone call from the depot foreman and explained to him that it needed a new screen , a new trim and needed sealing correctly.

Took it to the depot to drop it off for the work required and explained that it needed a new trim, new screen and re-sealing properly.

Attempt 2) Went to collect the car and checked it over, same screen (still damaged), same trim (still not sitting properly) but, they had squirted some goo in to fill the gap!

Went straight back in and pointed out the errors and re-itterated what I had told them three times and they agreed to visit my place of work to fit a new screen, new trims etc.

Attempt 3) New screen and trims fitted, all seemed ok although not the greatest job in the world.

That was until recently when the bloody trim came off.

Phoned customer services and told them and then spoke to the foreman at the depot again.

Attempt 4) Took the car to the depot and asked if it would be ready by lunchtime (was playing football that evening so would not be able to collect it later). Arrived at lunchtime to be told it was not finished because the screen had been broken and they were delayed whilst a new one arrived. So, went for a walk round the city and returned at the time requested, still not ready so waited a further 30 mins.

Left with the keys at 2.30pm and being told ' there you are Mr Russell, all ready for you with new trim and new screen' (the latter is important!).

Any way, the bloody trim has come off again (I now keep a roll of masking tape in the car for such occasions!) which is where the above epic in this past starts.

I have just been on the phone again and they have agreed to fit a genuine screen, genuine trims and genuine plastic clips using there top training man.

I was then told that the screen was free as a gesture of good will because the screen has a chip in it........which sudgests that the fact they told me last time that the screen was new is a bloody lie!

To add further salt to the wounds, they must have spotted the screen had a chip and did nothing about it and didn't even bother to tell me.

Or, they are using it as an excuse!

I rather hate, loath and detest these useless low life pricks, they are rather useless right the way through the organisation!
