Right. if you have a spare key, try it. One my son compalined his car would not start, it turned out he had dropped the key, the chip had fallen out, so it would not start. The spare key started it fine.
Or it could be fuel pump or fuel pump relay or even a fuse. Take off the fuel feed to fuel rail pipe, point it into a container, amd have the wife crank the engine. If no fuel, you have found your fault.

It's a 2.6 - No HT leads  :)

Edit. Sorry yes it's a 2.5. Getting confused with other thread

No disrespect mate but you're missing the point. The key would still lock and unlock if the transponder was missing or faulty.

Please, please listen to our suggestions, advice and offers. Collectively us long standing forum members know these cars VERY well!!!!! :y

1) Have you a spare key?

2) try and start the car with it and post the result....

Both purple relays are relevant...

One powers fuel pump, tother powers injectors.

Not all the plugs will have failed, a plug issue would give you a miss-fire not a non starter. Also if a coil pack failed, it would only run on one bank.

Lack of fuel could be a problem, as not much else would stop it starting.

Other area to look at is the key, has it come apart recently? Is the immobiliser chip all present and correct? Is it locking and unlocking ok?

This is a 2.5 so will have a single DIS not one per bank.  :)

Should still fire at least one cylinder and to be that bad it run like an utter dog for an age before completely dying on its arse...

2.6/3.2 is driveable with one coil pack unplugged...

Just don't try to overtake anything :-X

In which case there's either not enough fuel in the tank, or the pump is sticking or the injector relay has failed...
