As some may have seen in the "Where to buy a decent Elite" thread in General help, I was the highest bidder on eBay action for a nice looking 3.2 Elite only about 6/7 miles from me.
I decided for the money, to take a punt without seeing it. (I couldn't view before end of auction, I was abroad).
Before the auction end, the seller was very helpful and friendly, which inspired confidence. After I won, he was also prompt to reply. We arranged yesterday (23rd) that I would visit him after work today (24th), sort payment and paperwork, and then we would arrange to pay a local chap ( a pre agreed price of £50) to trailer it to me - thus avoiding the need to sort insurance and MOT etc.
I messaged the seller when I landed in the UK at 2000 hours last night to let him know I was home. I've sent him a couple of messages today asking for details (address and time) for logisitics, and leaving my number.
I haven't heard a Dickie bird, all day.
I'm not having a go at him as such, he was very helpful and may have had a genuine emergency or something today - it just seems odd that, on the day of doing the deed, I've not had any contact at all, not even a brief text to say there's an issue and he needs to rearrange.
As such I'm left not knowing if the transaction is still "on" or not. The recovery guy has also potentially lost out, both from other business he could have had tonight, and from this sale.
Grrrr!!!!!!! I have also not gone out all evening in case he called! I know people are busy on Christmas Eve, but, it was pre agreed, so I would have hoped for a message of some sort.
Most of all, I don't know if I'll get my Elite anymore! Thankfully I have not handed over any hard earned......
