What is the best one for genaral use and where to get it ??

Halfords I think is supposed to be quiet good, I got mine from Machine Mart, you could do with one that goes down to 8mn though

I have two .. a low range 6 - 20 Nm as many bolts on Miggy only need 8 Nm ( especialy cam covers) and standard 20 - 150 Nm.

With Torque wrenches you get what you pay for really, cheap will go out of calibration quickly.

Machine mart do some reasonable higher range ones .. I got the low range one from a specalist bike shop ( cycle type bike) as many performance bikes use low torque values.

i quite like halfrauds 6Nm to 50Nm one.  Need something bigger for bigger bolts though

Yep. Halfrauds one is not too bad. The ratchet on it is rubbish, I find, but the torque wrench part is nice. That covers most things you'll encounter other than suspension / transmission jobs IME so get a cheap high range one in addition and you're sorted.

Had to do some bolts up to 550Nm at work the other day so went shopping at work's expense. £300 bought a 3/4" drive torque wrench that will do up to 750Nm! Big boy's toys  

Only access to the bolts was under the machine - it two of us, one pushing and one pulling to crack the wrench.

Got a draper one from amazon, no too bad a price 8 - 80 i think for around £18, a lot cheaper than Halfords I think.

And if you have a Halfords TC you'll get a tenner of it  

£40 instead of £50  

I recommend you lend it to JamesV6CDX tho........he will test it thoroughly for 2 months.......and return it covered in grease and oil....to prevent it from rusting
