Friends re-united
« on: 18 January 2016, 17:27:48 »

As a long ago one time subscriber, I have just had a mail from them to say the organisation is finishing. They state the reasons why, one being not able to compete with the likes of Facebook.
Personally thought FR was not totally user friendly, but have to admit, I did make contact with some long lost friends.
They are going to start a new site called 'Life', which, I assume by their mail, will be on the same sort of basis as FR but much scaled down. :)

I thought it had gone long ago, what with Facespace now making it easy to stalk the girl you fancied in year 8...

Blimey, are you old enough to shave. When I was at school, it was called 2nd year.  Not that I fancied anyone in my school at that age...  ...seeing as it was an all boys school.

Closet door?

Quick, someone write down my post count.

I seem to recall it was years 1-5 when I was at school, followed by 12 & 13 as they changed the numbering half way through just to confuse us.. ;D

I definitely fancied a few in years 3-12.. I went to a mixed comprehensive, FWIW, before anyone asks!

When I went to school, just after the dark ages, in primary it was just Miss Gibson's class, or Mrs Coopers class, etc. When we went to secondary (big school) it was 1a, 1b 1c etc, 2a, 2b 2c, etc until 4 a. b or c then booted out  ;D

Only one girl contacted me on FR....and that was a girl who got me put in detention for throwing a beaker of water over her. My one and only time in detention. :(

Maybe its just me....but the girls I see coming out of school nowadays, seem to be more 'proportioned' than the girls I went to school with :(

There was plenty of students at that school who "did get on". On my first day, the one an only time I ever had a piss at that school, I saw an older boy and freshmeat come out of the same cubicle.  As a naive 12yr old, I never even imagined that such things could happen.

Ah...school....I haven't thought about that for years. I went to the grand sounding Liverpool Institute High School for boys. Paul MacCartney bought it years later and it's now the Liverpool Institute for performing arts of something.
We didn't have teachers, we had masters complete with mortar board and gown.

Not happy days, although I came out with a few O levels...and started work for GPO telephones shortly after.

The words to me from my head when I left secondary school were " Boy you will never have anything " I wasn't the best scholar shall we say , but I proved the old fart wrong. 😀 😁 😂
