Much more likely to be the park switch in the motor.

If the motor is new and the fault has returned, then clearly the motor is not the problem...

When the same thing happened to the new one... I would save some cash and get another second hand motor as you've likely bricked the new one too...

I would wager that it's shorting out in the plug or loom, either through wear or water ingress...

Might be prudent to check the loom first... might even be a switch fault, but loom most likely as you would have disturbed a section of it swapping the motor out :-\

I've had this issue and it was the relay - yellow one in the engine bay box.

Does the wash/wipe behave ok?  To get mine to park properly, I had to use the windscreen washers.  I cleaned the contacts in the relay and it worked for a few weeks but the problem came back so I go a new relay.
