Just a heads up for those who could do with a new pair of blades on there omega.

I just fitted a pair of Valeo flexi aeroblades to the mig from Halfords.

A massive improvement on standard blades and after a run up the A63 @ 70 +10% ish in the rain, I can confirm they great job and don't float around 

If your interested, the ones you need are ...............

Apparently, they don't do the Bosch pack anymore and are tending to give more discount on the Valeo brand from now.

Aero style are a poor 2nd on the Omega. Always have been, always will be.  They are great at removing water, esp from the bottom half of the screen, but otherwise utter phish in comparison to traditional blades.  I've tried Bosch, Michelin, Goodyear, Valeo and various other shite, including some from egay claiming to be made by continental .  Bosch do appear to have the edge due to better longevity, and stay quiet for longer.

However, aeros are a necessary evil if you're unlucky enough to have a late Elite with its over anxious, pathetic automatic wipers, as they wear the traditional blades out in weeks.

The other thing, I've snapped 4 or 5 passenger side aeros now, poxy things.  Downside of using them on cars not designed with aeros in mind (along with poor performance).

Never snapped an aero. Never had issues with quality ones. Had plenty of standard, including GM, blades not clearing properly after a very short time.

New Bosch ones on (had issues with Valeo in the past so don't trust them)... Just under £25 for the pair. New screen now rainx ed as well

As to life, I get about a year out of both my Omegas, one with aeros, one with traditional, both currently Bosch.

Although the Elite does wear its wipers quicker, due to those silly auto wipers.

Not needed, I choose to do it. I like the clear view produced by the beading rain water running off... I've used the stuff for years on all of my vehicles - Even my lorries and vans 

I don't agree that the Aero blades are shit. They're different, not shit. Just newer technology What is shit is the fact that they haven't come up with a better, low prifile way of mounting them as a retro fit

They worked brilliantly well, and quietly. After 5 months of pretty grim weather, they still sweep amazingly cleanly.
At £5.50 for both sides, including postage, I am well pleased.
I agree that they are a little bulky, but I think they look quite stylish.....

Every one I have snapped from the driver's seat

Apart from one, they don't snap off and fly into the following traffic, its "spine" breaks, leaving it attached but floppy.  They always snap in the same place - just outboard of the fixing, passenger side - which makes me wonder if its due to the screen shape.


I will add, I use aeros on the Zafira, and on that flatter screen, they are very good.

Its simply the Omega screen shape means they are substandard (happy, Mr Lazydocker? ) on Omegas, in comparison to traditionals.  Remember, I am comparing like with like (having 2 Omegas), not comparing a new aero against a shagged out old blade
