Hi guys newbie on the site here, just bought my third omega and of course the rear arches are crap, i was wondering if i can buy rear quarter panels and inner arches new? Has any got any solutions, everytime, they area sanded back, treated and painted, one year later its the same. Thanks in advance, what a great forum

did my rusty arches coming up to 3 years ago now, nothing's come through yet touch wood (converted painted rust). 

you have to remove enough rust, ideally all, so that a rust converter like fertan or vactan can fully penetrate any rust that's left. then when totally dry plenty of b&q anti rust primer, then underseal inside.    Before the fertan you have to remove all the rust salts or the rust restarts, solvents like meths won't do that you need sugar soap and water then dry and degrease with meths thoroughly.

Carz2 in Malvern Worcestershire. Stock replacement Omega wheel arch panels, light rust can be dealt with as already described, but there's got to be a good attention to detail otherwise you'll have wasted your efforts.I have had the rear arches replaced on two of my cars using Carz2 panels and there have been no problems with the fit etc and that rust problem has now been dealt with and as long as the crud isn't allowed to build up on the arch lip they should see the car out.

I had this on my e36. Had the problem sorted by having the inner lip cut back and mastic bead to stop dirt and water pooling. I'm going to do the same to this mig

This is the key as the rust is on both sides of  the inner and outer arches. Any chemical  is only going to be a short-term 'fix.' The ONLY cure is to cut them out and weld in fresh metal. Omega arches aren't complicated, and a repair panel would have to be cheap for me to consider buying rather than making them. You'll be making the inner arch repair anyway.

By inner lip I meant the 90° ledge you can feel as you run your hand along the arch,  I was left with about a 3mm lip. It really wasn't that bad in the first place but had bubbled the paint
