coolant level, erratic temperature guage
« on: 08 March 2016, 14:05:44 »

Help, my 2.0 auto mega, consistently claims the coolant level needs checking, but it is ok in the expansion tank. and the temperature gauge displays erratically.  I did manage to dislodge a large air bubble, but the problem remains, any ideas please?  Sorry its a 2000/2001 model.

The float in the expansion tank is either stuck or damaged.
Jiggling it might free it up, so that's worth a go.
If it's damaged the repair is a new tank which is about £40. Or you could disconnect the wiring plug and bridge the two wires if you're happy with a bodge.
