Best advise I can offer, and the policy I work to ,is never pay for a service until you have received it.

Might end up paying a few quid ott but the willingness to get the job done properly before you pay focuses the mind.

How my business works and our service rarely gets questioned

Booked through black circles, already paid for. If I had not pre-paid, I would be!

Ahh, yes they are not making much on the deal, so you are low on the totem pole. For interest, I buy my tyres on line, and know two or three garages/tyre shops close to me who will fit for £10 a corner. Worth ringing round to check with the smaller places. :y

My son's place is Universal Tyres in Staines and I always get there half an hour before they open, because as soon as they open the bays there's a queue and that's a constant whichever day you go there, and his guys are on the go until closing.I don't get any better treatment there as I would with a local company other than I get my tyres at cost,so to a point I don't mind waiting for an hour to get my tyres fitted but I feel sorry for the regular punters who have got stuff to do but have to put everything on hold while the organised chaos goes on around them ::)

This why you need to use your local tyre place and build up a relationship with them. My local place will always match the interweb if he can anyway, plus I can call in with a puncture & more often than not they'll sort it sooner rather than later ....... advantage of shift though is that I can go in Mon to Fri

I go too my usual tyre place, chose my tyres, then get told "go and make the tea, and there's the machines, you know how to fit tyres, crack on :)" :y

Thanks for comments all, I'll leave a crappy review on Black Circles and go from there.  :)

What am I  missing here? You used a third party internet 'service' to arrange something at a local company. Why not just start there and save yourself some grief? Tyres are an everyday part available from dozens of local suppliers.

Because the ones I wanted, were not available through them.  :y

Yeah I was almost going to do that, but the price including fitting and balancing was really good if I did it in one go.

I used a different place to re-pair a puncture on the 2.2, they were very good. However not on Black Circles list, which probably says it all  ::)

Buying tyres is such a rare thing for me, so it's difficult to do so. Tyres coming off the 3.2 were fitted when I bought, it 4 years ago.

Same can be said of the 2.2, had tyres on that for years now.

More use? Absolutely.  :y

More miles.... not so sure.  :-\

3.2 is the main family motor now, I used to switch the baby seat between 2.2 and 3.2, now I just don't bother.  Prefer the 3.2  ::)

Still reckon it will be 2-3 years at least before 3.2 needs new rubber.

I've never had a problem with BlackCircles, but the place I use is an "under the arches" mechanic who doesn't sell his own tyres so probably chooses to do the Blackcircles business as a sideline. Always downs tools and fits my tyres when I pitch up.

Was the place you used on the A30 perchance?

I'd pick up the phone and complain. I know that's an alien concept anyone born after 1980, but you'll get a better response than email or leaving a bad review, as its more difficult for them to ignore it.

Additionally, on top of any goodwill gesture/voucher, it will likely remove that garage from their list, so others won't hit the same issue.

Personally, I've never had any issue with BC fitters, once back when I had Tractor they took 30mins to do one tyre, most of that was due to starting late, but could accept that (despite the fact I was at work ::)). They have recently opened their own branded/franchised fitting centre at Tesco near work, which I've used once. Turned up 10 mins early as requested, went in at appointment time, about 25mins later I was driving back to the office car park with a pair of boots on the back.

I do tend to use fatty in town when I can though. Partly to support local Brakkers businesses, but also he then becomes "responsible" for the tyre throughout its life, so when it sheds a weight, or if the rim starts to leak, he'll sort it. He will, like any independent tyre place, match any online fitted price when presented with evidence of that price. Downside is he sometimes needs 2 attempts to balance them...  ...though that hasn't happened for a while as he's learnt that the Omega seems fussy on balancing, which I always remind him about anyway.
