EML light
« on: 16 April 2016, 22:37:43 »

Hi all.
2.6 CDX
EML light has been on for the last 2 months but the car seems to be running fine, maybe a slight rough idle but you would need to concentrate to notice it.
Had a mechanic friend read the codes for me and this is what it come up with.

P1650 service light
P0325 Knock sensor 1, circuit bank 1, low input
P0170 Fuel trim malfunction bank 1
P0173 Fuel trim          "          "    2

The first one I have never seen light up even on ignition so I presume the bulb has gone so not worried about that one.
The last 3 my machanic said could be something as simple as a vacum hose come off or split which could throw up a fault with the MAF sensor which could throw up the code for the Knock sensor.
As it was chucking it down with rain we did not have time to have a look.
Will be changing the cam covers soon so while under there if the good folks on here could offer up any thoughts on what to look for or keep an eye out for then it would be much appreciated.
Oh, and when he had finished he cancelled the EML light which stayed off for a couple of days but then come back on when I seem to hit a bump. Light still on but car still seems to be running ok to me.
All coments welcome.
Many thanks,  Joe

You really need to get the LTFT (Long Term Fuel Trims) and the MAF data read from the car.

And yes, a leak in the inlet/vacuum system can cause these issues.  How is the car idling?

As said, it needs the live data reading, rather than just the codes...
