Remapping ECU for alien diff
« on: 18 April 2016, 19:20:47 »

2000 2.5 petrol manual estate
Previous owner of this car ajsphead replaced failing diff with used Omega diff off a diesel. To compensate for the different diff he had the ECU remapped by MTech Opel Tuning of Oirschot Nederland, cost 328 euros. Car runs fine I have no complaints. Following my thread on Sport mode remapping and Omaga-Galaxy's on fitting a different diff, I ponder: Why remap ECU after fitting different diff?

No need to remap after changing a Diff Ratio assuming youve changed the ratio for a reason then you have an idea what to expect from the setup.

TBH, theres not a lot you can remap on standard ECU for an Aspirated Engine to suit a change in diff ratio  :-\, Turbo Petrol or Turbo Diesel possibly yes.

Exactly.  Air and Fuel ratio is pretty much it.  OK, you could increase the rev-limiter, but to the detriment of the engine. The V6 is pretty much mapped to make the best of it's available torque anyway, and quite fiddly to improve upon due to the Multi-Ram induction.
