Diesel Fuel Consumption
« on: 02 May 2016, 18:37:08 »

Now I have sold my 3.2 Irmscher Estate, I have decided to go for a diesel.

What sort of fuel consumption can I expect?

I was only getting 18 out of the 3.2 :-\ :-\

Are there any mods, to improve consumption? Remap??

Thanks

Colin

I had a 2 litre Mazda diesel estate , on my daily 54 mile commute it returned 46 MPG on good A roads on a long run almost 60 MPG, don't know what make you are considering.

A diesel what?  ???

VW Phaeton gets about 30, yet a Golf should do nearer 60.

Bit like asking how long is a bit of string  :)

And a 3.0 / 3.2 Manual LPG does about 45 to 55 mpg, (doing the the maths at cost of LPG vs Diesel)

2.5TD or 2.2DTi

If 2.5TD is it auto or manual?

What actual MPG? 3.2 Auto will barley do 25 on petrol, so best case 20 on LPG so that means 35-40 ish mpg on the wallet for me  :-\

Hi Colin,
I've been watching the mpg on the 2.2 DTi that I bought a couple of weeks ago and at the moment I'm getting 40 to 45  combined mpg. Though the engine hadn't been running right for some of that time due to a vacuum leak so should have a better idea when I fill up next time. Hope this helps.

Get a minimum of 29MPG on petrol on my daily driver, but then I drive mainly motorways every day.

2.2 DTi Estate mix of urban and open road 39-40mpg. Have got 46 brim to brim on longer run. Not bad for a big old barge.
