Be prepared to be rather annoyed.
« on: 22 July 2008, 22:52:35 »

Pinched from another forum  >:( >:(

I thought it was to good to be true.

Announced in the House today in response to a question, also leak reported on only Page 17 of todays Daily Mail.

From April 2009 all pre 2001 cars not caught by the Road fund licence re-banding
will be liable to a Double Inflation increase each year plus a Special Additional "Green Levy" Tax
making minimum Tax Disc £200.00 it was announced today where as it should have been £180.00

This increase will affect an additional 5.6 Million Drivers,
on top of the all ready announced increases to 9.4 million motorists paying more.

The government says taking into account the rate of inflation and Freezing of Road Fund Licences in previous years,
no one will be paying more in real terms than in 1997. Yea Right.

The scrapping of Classic Car Tax and implementation of road Fund Use Licences for caravans are also under review with a committee looking into it.

I can see the smile on TB's face from here. ;D ;D ;D
And then trailer's, this has been talked about for years and will never happen, they won't get it through before the next election. Classic car tax, mostly tory voters so I doubt any change.

If, what you say is right then there will be hell to pay, I still do not believe that the general public realise what is happening with RFL as it is.

How can they justify this, bikes do not cause congestion, and are reasonably economical compared to cars. They certainly could not suggest is it is a green tax.

You are probably the one person who could!

I think they should bring in MOT's for caravans and trailers.....passed ANOTHER one this morning where the wheel had fallen off !.

The final part of the test could be for fire resistance....
