If you follow the link on my previous post, you will see the 60th Anniversary SS-V 6.0 for Aus$55,690. That's about £26,786, or roughly the list price of the top of the range Vauxhall Vectra.  :(

Did fall out with Vauxhall but now back again,
Vauxhall / Opels owned

Chevettes loved
MK1 Cavalier loved
Ascona's loved
Manta's loved
MK1 Astra loved
MK2 Astra loved
MK3 Cavalier loved
1997 Vectra, hated it
When looking to replace said Vectra looked at newer shape vectra and hated it, so went and bought a Volvo, loved that. But now just come back and bought a 2005 Astra Design 1.8 auto with "sport button" woo hoo. makes the car a normal hatchback most of the time, but when needed that little button is a lot of fun.
Vauxhall probably had some bad times from 1996 to 2004ish there saving grace during that time was the Omega.

Just my useless opinion.

Will never fall out of love with vauxhall. I have had a lot of vauxhall's over the years and to date my 3.0 V6 is the best but i do want to try the vectra VXR as that looks like a lot of fun, the VXR8 and the monaro. Yes they stopped making the omega and it was a very sad day when they did but they are still making good driver's cars.

Garage clear out in March 2011 and I will have a large amount of omega parts going very cheap.

It's not just Holden that make great big cars in Oz. F*rd make some crackers too.
Take a quick look at this link.

After a long string of company Vauxhalls, I never thought I'd actually choose to buy one.  But I did - twice!  So they can't be that bad.

A quick 8-) for the VX220 - also sadly no longer available.

I've owned cars for 40 years.  My Omega is the first Vauxhall I've owned, although I once had an (LPG) Opel Ascona as a company car when I lived in Holland.

I used to drive Granadas, and there's not really a lot of difference between a top of the range Vauxhall and a top of the range Ford, although I wasn't too happy with the last, hatchback style Granada.  It is a pity that the big saloons from the mass market manufacturers have all gone.  They represented exceptional value for money.

I love my Omega, but given the choice, I'd go for a Jaguar any day. :) :)

Just saw a pic of the Insignia in AutoExpress.  Looks pretty good to me - no idea about engines, interior and how it will drive though.  Due out in the autumn if I remember correctly.

I don't know what it is for me about vauxhalls! I have never had anything else!

I've Had;

Opel Kadett Coupe 1.2s (Not Astra)
Vauxhall Belmont 1.4
Vauxhall Vectra 1.8
Vauxhall Omega 2.2
Vauxhall Omega 2.6 MV6!!

Loved everyone of em! Can't explain it!!  :y

With the Exception of my Omega 2.2 only because it was cursed and caused me alloy of problems!!

As for the current Range, I would love a VXR8!

I keep coming back to VX's mainly because I can fit in them - but seems to be anything with Germanic DNA (VW Bora, BMW E28 525e and Merc 190E also rate with me).

Only ever had one duff Vauxhall - a MK2 Carlton 2.2CDi whose engine expired in a big way - but that was in worse nick that I admitted to myself when i bought it.  It was big, black, low and top of the range - must have been a glowing shade of rose on my sunglasses that day...

Loved my Mk5 Astra (1998 - correct?), and a 1.8 Auto Vectra did exactly what it said on the tin.  My dad has been a big VX lover as well, having had a Royale and one of the last GSi3000 12v's but keeps sending my ebay links for Lotus versions...He used to be a Police Mechanic in the Senator era ;) and naturally after a service, they had to be tested  ::)  Not too keen on the latest Astra, but at least there are plenty of Migs to keep me going for a while when (if) upgrade time comes.  Given a 70 mile daily commute - not so sure if i'll beat a 2.0 on LPG for pence per mile.  For fun time I have my "toys"..

I am not a fan of GM, and think that they deserve the situation that they are in.  However, strangely, I very much like the 2 Vauxhalls that I have and one of them is my first real project car (as in more than just an engine/gearbox/axle rebuild).

However, these 2 are no longer in production despite being less than 10 years old, so from the current range there is nothing that interests me - but that can be said of several car brands that I have been a huge fan of over the years.

As already posted i'm not a diehard VX fan.
Viva vs Escort, Ford wins. Chevettes were cool.
     Victor vs Cortina, Ford wins.
Cresta/vicount/ventora etc vs Mk1 or 2 Granada, Ford wins.
FWD escort vs Astra, VX wins.
Late Granada vs. Omega, VX wins hands down.

I do like these new Vauxhalls Insignia, Monaro but i can't afford one being honest..... but I would buy the Astra VXR in red as I love the look of them.
I too have had VX's for years now, I have always been happy so I will be sticking with them  :y
