Dash temperature gauge not working?
« on: 11 July 2016, 12:28:43 »

Hi All
Would anyone have a Dash temperature gauge only my gauge is not working. The sender has been replaced by my local garage but the temperature still shows the engine cold with the needle not climbing? Chalky at tha garage has told me that this is quite unusual to go wrong but this does seem to be the case!

Regards,

Martin

What engine, and did they replace correct temp sender (there are 2).

Place palm of hand on rev counter, and smartly, firmly press back - it dash feels like it reseated (you'll know!), try again.

Failing that, if near me, pop it round, we'll have a look.

Test the gauge by earthing the single blue wire from the sender ... the gauge should show fully hot

Although the sender was replaced the garage did check the gauge in the dash with what I would assume was an amp meter and this showed that it was giving no current completely dead!! :(

Replacing the wrong sender won't have fixed it...
