Replaced downpipe flexi yesterday.  The flexi is fitted at an angle to change direction of pipe but the pipe that protrudes into the flexi isn't trimmed down and restricts a 54mm downpipe by about 15mm.  I've now trimmed that out to give the full flow, might expect it from some cheap and nasty but not from a genuine pipe.
