Just to be clear.

The quality etc of the DFS stuff is really pretty good. It's just service and attitude I have a real problem with.
We understand, Rog. They pissed you off and made you cry but you're over it now;D

Nope. Still pissed off at 'em. Had to move two settees in the back of cars as the removal men had already emptied the house.
Try to move on. Harbouring feelings of rage is not good for your blood pressure. Have you considered counselling?

I work in the furniture industry and its the standing joke that when DFS dont have a sale on its the day they have gone pop. It makes us look a joke though when we do have a genuine sale though

They'll be fine as Rog will be wearing his wellies with the little straps on the sides.  :)

Our last sofa(s) cost £30 from Ebay.

£10 for an unmarked 2 year old Laura Ashley 3 seater.

£10 for an unmarked 2 year old Laura Ashley 2 seater

£10 for an unmarked 2 year old Laura Ashley chair.

Young couple in their twenties bought it brand new when they moved into their (also brand new)Persimmon home......complete with two brand cars on the drive.

She, especially, couldn't wait to get rid of it as she liked everything to be brand new. Thinking about it now I should have charged them for taking it away.

Later found it online for the thick end of £3000. :y

What is it with young couples these days ? Everything has to be designer this or "certain label" that along with stupidly expensive weddings somewhere exotic. All trying to live the Beckham lifestyle.

Anyway, last furniture we bought was two enormous leather recliners, as new. High quality. You could sleep on them. Local auction £120 the pair. These would easilly be £700 to £1000 each new. This local auction has some great deals, but you need to wait until something you like comes along. We recently saw a very decent leather Chesterfield 3 piece go for £30. It just wasn't what we wanted. There is also a load of crap, but that's the nature of auctions. And of course no warranties etc

We got this rather large piece from a discount place in Sheffield. It cost us £295. Inside one of the drawers is a brass plate with 'Willis & Gambier' engraved on it. I can't find the exact piece online, as it is an end of line, but similar ones cost around £1100.

If memory serves I think they got hitched and took their honeymoon in the Seychelles.

She didn't seem like a Skegness type of girl to me. :)

Yes..judging by the colour of the two lads who carried it in. I thought one of them was about to expire.  :o
