If your insurance dosn't cover it, then look for a small local company rather than one of the big boys like Autoglass. I got mine done by Phoenix Windscreens in Exeter for £140 ish a 3 or 4 years ago.  :y

Autoglass quoted me something like £800 and when I laughed the girl dropped it to £340!  ::)  Robbing gits!  >:(

Well just looked at reviews about auto-glass and nat- windows, both give mostly bad service looking at the reviews.May be use a local firm, but i think its pot luck if you get a good job or a bad job.Dean :-\

A standard Omega windscreen (not Rain Sense or the Solar thing'y) costs about £75 + vat, theres a few Suppliers that will sell you one for around that sort of money. Then its just a case of finding a fitter that works for Beer Tokens on his day off, budget for £25 to £40 to fit.

Biggest issue is getting the plastic fixings, whether getting new from the fitter or get the fitter to fit the old ones if its do-able.

Saving the plastics ain't hard. Getting them to stay on the screen is tricky.

I usually use a smear of the adhesive behind trim before refitting. Never had one fall off yet  :y

Roof / Guttering Sealant works well, its that black Tar type stuff out of a tube, sticky but never really goes rock hard.  :y

I just use the urethane when fitting the window. Goes hard and doesn't let go of them  :y
