Went here this avro..... Mr DTM would have been in his element, as it was a 'steam' weekend and the beam engines were running.....altho it was incredibly hot inside....best not to go on such a warm day

I shall probably go back at Easter next year, when theres another 'steam' weekend when hopefully its a cooler weekend. I didn't realise to start with, but the £8 ticket you buy on a 'steam' weekend is a season ticket for free entry for the next 12 months 

Didn't fancy the job of the two boiler men, who were constantly peering into the boiler, checking the coal was burning correctly and taping the pressure gauges. They looked a bit hot and bothered 

But as it was a nice sunny day it would have been rude not to of partaken of a bbq burger and 1/2pint  of cider from the bar (I was driving so 1/2 pint is the max I will have) and sit in the sun over looking the canal

Sounds a good day,i spent the afternoon at Foxhall stadium Ipswich seeing a bunch of caravans destroyed in a demolition derby...very satisfying

My Bank Holiday afternoon . . . . now let me see

Very little until around 1pm, then lunch, then farted around seeing if a 20+ year old Arcam stereo amplifier still worked. It does. Listened to some old vinyl LPs. Some drum practice, then some guitar arsing about. Then time for a beer and make dinner.

Now here with a glass of Merlot, seeing if there are any old saddos with nothing better to do. Nope, all tucked up with their fantasies. So that's what I'll do. Not set foot out of the house.

Looks good, pity its not a bit closer

We popped to Bruntingthorpe on Sunday (saw a nice 2002 mig in green there to) to see the cold war jets doing fast taxi runs, really enjoyed it!

Great to see a Lightning on full re-heat and we also got blown over by the jet blast from the Nimrod when he turned the wrong way and then ran out of momentum!

Couldn't get there this year but looking forward to the twilight scramble in November
