What happens when the previous owner rode the clutch pedal?

This:

The metal parts of the release bearing were distorted, and the plastic body melted onto the input shaft. I only found one of the ball bearings.... The tips of the clutch fingers were about half their original thickness and blue, and there was wear on the clutch fork. It reached 60,000 miles the day before this failed.

I fixed other issues while I was at it: the heater hose was badly routed with the spring clamp in the way of the gearbox and almost rusted through - fixed by re-routing and a worm drive clamp; the downpipe bracket was torn off the exhaust and the joint leaking - welded the bracket back on, added some paste to the joint and shimmed the springs; reconnected the spade terminals for the cooling fan - I need to find the correct multiplug for a proper fix.

It drives a lot better with a new clutch and properly attached exhaust :y
