What happens when the previous owner rode the clutch pedal?

This:

The metal parts of the release bearing were distorted, and the plastic body melted onto the input shaft. I only found one of the ball bearings.... The tips of the clutch fingers were about half their original thickness and blue, and there was wear on the clutch fork. It reached 60,000 miles the day before this failed.

I fixed other issues while I was at it: the heater hose was badly routed with the spring clamp in the way of the gearbox and almost rusted through - fixed by re-routing and a worm drive clamp; the downpipe bracket was torn off the exhaust and the joint leaking - welded the bracket back on, added some paste to the joint and shimmed the springs; reconnected the spade terminals for the cooling fan - I need to find the correct multiplug for a proper fix.

It drives a lot better with a new clutch and properly attached exhaust :y

Turned this pile of junk

which is a length of scaffold pole, four discs left from the handrail I built and some oval tubing I scrounged from a skip into this:

which is a stand for the bead roller:

the large handwheel used to be a base for a garden seat, that was also scrounged from a skip.
The short length of angle welded to the upright was added after I finished the stand to allow the easy mounting of both my folder

and the shrinker/stretcher

via this complex fabrication

All of these tools are now easily usable, which has never been the case for the twenty years :o  I've owned them.

I've also made several of these spike and fid sets using the M16x100bolts shown and a scrap length of 15mm copper pipe.

They're used for splicing and adjusting bell ropes.
