Until a few years ago I'd not heard of 'winter tyres' and winter tyre threads.

Possibly,  but I will imminently need a set of four tyres for the BMW, and with the winter potentially looking chilly, (the first geese have already started arriving here), coupled with the fact that these are £153 delivered... it makes some sort of sense.

I found that sensibly priced 20" tyres were readily available for the Insignia... you might be pleasantly surprised

Technically, all 6 cylinder Omegas should have Z/Y/W rated tyres
