Oh no... Not another winter tyre thread...
« on: 11 October 2016, 13:32:44 »

Well, it is that time of year ::)

Theses...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172145289409?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Might be of interest to thems who are that way inclined :y

They're Omega 16" sized/rated, ie 225/55/16 99V XL, so suitable for the entire range.

Until a few years ago I'd not heard of 'winter tyres' and winter tyre threads.

Just tyres and tyre threads.

Are winter tyres something that has come from the continent?

Possibly,  but I will imminently need a set of four tyres for the BMW, and with the winter potentially looking chilly, (the first geese have already started arriving here), coupled with the fact that these are £153 delivered... it makes some sort of sense.

Especially as I need to get to work should it actually snow ::)

Of course one of the benefits of BREXIT is that the EU won't be able to force us to change our tyres every 6 months.   :P   :)

Every cloud ;D

Was a chance find, but normally, £38 a corner barely gets you a part worn budget, or worse...

Petrol up 5p a litre by the end of the month.

'They' are blaming Brexit due to the fall in the value of the pound. ::) ::) ::) ;)

I'm not looking forward to future tyre replacement. :-\

I found that sensibly priced 20" tyres were readily available for the Insignia... you might be pleasantly surprised ;)

Accelera are/have been fairly well received on here, so I figured they're worth a punt...

Yes and at that price I wouldn't bother swapping them in the summer either.  :)

Technically, all 6 cylinder Omegas should have Z/Y/W rated tyres
