Spacer - front crank sensor
« on: 22 October 2016, 13:15:59 »

Having changed my front crank seal it still leaks worse than before

The spacer the seal runs on is badly scored. Is this common?

Are they available from a dealer?

Turning the spacer around didn't help

No rush on this, as I can't do anything until my mate comes to jump on breaker bars for me anyway

Do you mean where the outer edge of the seal goes into?

I think there's a spacer on the crank nose behind the pulley onto which the lips of the seal locate. Odd that this has got scored. It must have had something caught under the seal. I guess that would explain why the new seal hasn't helped, though.

Also, sucking eggs here, of course, but the breathers are clean, presumably? ;)
